A gaming setup with great hardware can still look like an electronics shop. What makes a setup feel like yours is the stuff around the hardware: a shelf, a light, one or two objects that say something about what you play.
Start with a shelf
A floating shelf above the monitor is the single best upgrade. It gives figures a home off the desk, lifts them into your eyeline, and makes the wall look intentional. Mount it 30–40 cm above the top of the monitor so it does not crowd the screen.
Put characters on it
Figures from the games and stories you love turn a shelf into a display. Ledge sitters are made for shelves: they sit on the edge with their legs hanging over, which breaks the straight line of the shelf.
- Gamer Skull Ledge Sitter: a hooded skeleton with a controller
- Seated Warrior with Frost Axe and Resting Warrior with Chained Blades, a matching pair
- Noir Spider Ledge Sitter, trench coat and fedora
Three pieces is the right number for one shelf. More than five turns into a collection shelf, which is a different look. See gifts for gamers for more pieces.
Light the shelf, not just the desk
An LED strip under the shelf, pointing down, lights the figures from above and throws shadows behind them. It makes cheap objects look expensive. Match the colour temperature to the rest of the room, or tie it into your RGB scheme.
Keep hot halogen spots away from printed figures. LEDs are fine; PLA softens with heat.
Choose figure colours that suit the lighting
- Matte black or charcoal picks up coloured RGB light beautifully.
- White or light grey suits white setups and daylight rooms.
- Silk silver or silk gold catches light and looks metallic under a strip.

Use the monitor top
The top of a monitor is dead space. A small figure sitting on the edge adds personality without taking desk space. Check your monitor first: ledge sitters for monitors.
Hide the cables
Nothing undoes a nice setup like a cable waterfall. Run everything along the back edge of the desk, use a cable tray underneath, and velcro-wrap the bundles. Our desk setup guide covers it in more detail.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make my gaming setup look aesthetic?
Add a shelf above the monitor with two or three figures, light it with an LED strip, hide the cables, and stick to a limited colour palette.
Where should figures go in a gaming room?
On a shelf at eye level above or beside the monitor, or on the monitor's top edge if it is flat. Keep them off the desk so they do not get knocked.
What figures suit a gaming setup?
Characters from the games you play, or gaming-themed pieces like a skeleton with a controller. Ledge sitters work especially well on shelves.
